VANCOUVER—In 2010, Victoria resident Jeremy Chow saw a commercial on TV about the need for stem cell donors from ethnic minorities in Canada.
“At that age I’m healthy, I’m playing sports, so I put myself out there and I applied to get a swab kit,” said Chow, who was 33 when he submitted the swab sample and officially registered as a stem cell donor.
