Biden stops at three target sites to honor 9/11 victims

Saturday marked the twentieth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks on the United States. President Joseph Biden honored its victims by traveling to all three sites where the hijacked planes crashed. He began his day in New York City where the World Trade Center’s twin towers fell. His second stop was Shanksville, Pennsylvania, where United Flight 93 crashed into a field after passengers overtook the hijackers and prevented another target from being hit. His final stop was back at Washington, D.C. to visit the Pentagon, which was another target.

Raducanu and Medvedev win unexpected U.S. Open titles

The US Open came to an eventful end this weekend. On Saturday, British teenager Emma Raducanu claimed her first Grand Slam championship by winning the Women’s final. She defeated Canda’s Leylah Fernandez with a stunning and unexpected upset. Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev won the Men’s final against World No. 1 Novak Djokovic. The win effectively ended Djokovic’s attempt to be the first man in 52 years to win all four Grand Slams in the same calendar year.
